Emergence is the most fragile of the movements and the most easily missed. It moves at the speed of the seed, the spark, the first three notes of a melody. By the time most strategies meet it, it has already been overwritten by the answer that arrived too quickly.
The work of this layer is the patience of naming. It is the willingness to sit with what is trying to come through long enough that it can tell you its actual shape — rather than the shape your previous successes would prefer it to take.
For founders, emergence is the inception layer. For mature operators, it is the practice of not killing the new thing with the old playbook. It is the chamber where curiosity is more useful than certainty.
